Dua-Pa, a non-profit social enterprise, has launched the ‘Yaa Asantewaa - Warriors Win Together’ project to empower women in small medium enterprises (SMEs).
The project, also called Project 841, is an initiative that seeks to address the issues of communication with their customers and the sustainability of SMEs beyond the coronavirus pandemic through a multi-stakeholder platform.
The launch of the ‘Yaa Asantewaa - Warriors Win Together’ project saw nine female entrepreneurs collaborate to showcase their works through a photoshoot.
The participants of the project benefited from a 5-day networking and social marketing course, the second of its kind initiated by Dua-Pa.
The participants are however yet to receive resources on funding from local stakeholders and mentoring and coaching with the partners, One2One Mentoring, another UK based charity.
The founder of Dua-Pa, Effie Grant commenting on the project said: “This innovation, however, significantly incremental and mundane, hinges on an accumulation of pocket-sized insights and breakthroughs which often entail ideas that are not even new. They are ideas that have been around but have never been vigorously pursued.”
She went on to say: "If we can anticipate both foreign and domestic needs, we are opportune to that competitive advantage but even more shrewd in the era of building strong black-owned economies, if we can respond to any concerns or circumstances that are distinctive to our home markets then we can obstruct any international competitive triumphs, so that made in Ghana keeps winning.”
