The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Ho West Constituency, Dr. David Togbe Nfodjo has presented mathematical sets to some Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) candidates in his jurisdiction.
A total of 1,456 candidates from 68 Junior High Schools in the constituency benefited from the distribution exercise.
According to Dr. Nfodjo, a survey in the area revealed that most candidates in the area lack basic required items for the exams due to their poor background, "hence get to the exams hall with very low confidence."

He added that this informed his decision initiative to support the candidates with mathematical sets to build their confidence ahead of the exams.
"I made the donations to ensure we don't have a situation where candidates won't have drawing tools during exams, therefore would have to wait to borrow from a friend or use free hands”, he said.
Dr. Nfodjo further indicated the presentation forms part of his 'Better Education Policy' which he aims to implement when voted to represent Ho West in Parliament.
He added that he had mobilised vehicles to convey candidates in hard to reach areas to their examinations centers, and implored the candidates to ensure the perform exceedingly well in the BECE to enable benefit from the Free Senior High School policy.
A beneficiary, Evans Agbotse, expressed gratitude to the NPP PC for the kind gesture indicating the mathematical would help them during the examinations.
"We won't have to be asking our friends for maths set or any other equipment. We really appreciate the donation," he stressed.
