MP for the Madina Constituency, Abubakar Boniface Siddique, has stated that owing to his 'Mission Madina' initiative, insecurity in the constituency has declined in the last 4 years.
The NPP Parliamentary candidate who is seeking a second term in office says the crime rate in Madina from between 2016 and 2020 has drastically reduced due to investments and measures instituted to ensure that residents of the community are protected.
In an interaction with JoyNews' Daniel Dadzie on Friday, October 16, 2020, Mr. Boniface said that in order to facilitate safety operations in the Constituency, the Police, Fire Service, and NaDMO were provided with motorbikes.
He also noted that between 2016 and 2020, the community recorded a decreased rate of night crimes like armed robbery.
This, according to the legislator, is largely due to increased police visibility in the area as well as in the installation of streetlights.
"A contractor was also paid to fix 74 streetlights in the market area after vendors complained of aggravating theft cases at night," he said.
“I’ve also held workshops with some people to teach them the importance of living peacefully with their neighbours because asides pointing to proof of work done, there is the need to engage the people in dialogue,” he added.
