Phoenix Rising captain, Solomon Asante celebrated his side's triumph in the Western Conference USL Championship final on Saturday with former teammate Didier Drogba.
Phoenix drew 1-1 with El Paso Locomotive FC in regulation time in the final as they went ahead to win 4-2 on penalties.
Drogba ended his illustrious career with the USL side and he was the first person Asante called after the final whistle.
Speaking to Joy Sports, the Ghanaian explained why he reached out to celebrate with Drogba after they were crowned champions.
