Four persons have sustained various degrees of injuries after a bizarre electric shock at Amakye-Bare in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred when the metal tip of a pop-up canopy they were carrying touched live electrical cables on Monday morning.
This has left the entire farming community of Amakye-Bare in a state of shock.
JoyNews checks revealed that three relatives; Emmanuel Asumadu, Prince Eshun, Kwame Dacosta and their friend, Blessing Ode were affected and are receiving treatment at the Asuofua Polyclinic.
A relative of one of the victims, 23-year-old Racheal Eshun, is said to have fainted upon hearing the news but has recovered and is in stable condition with the others.
Residents say the swift intervention by the medical staff after the victims were rushed to the health facility helped to manage the situation.
An eyewitness, Asomah Bandah, who helped to convey the victims to the hospital tells Nhyira News that all the victims sustained multiple burns on their body especially their hands and head.
"It is true they sustained injuries but nobody is dead. I conveyed them to the hospital but they are responding to treatment," he said.
