Great Olympics head coach Annor Walker has been adjudged the best coach of matchday 2 of the Ghana Premier League according to Joy Sports.
The former Nania FC and Berekum Chelsea coach guided his side to a comprehensive 3-0 triumph over Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
The Wonder Club's performance which helped them snatch a point at Tarkwa against title contenders Medeama SC was seen as fluky. However, their showing against the Royals last Friday has got detractors changing their minds which is a result of the impact of coach Walker.
First and foremost, playing against a team like Legon Cities is never plain-sailing. The Accra-based club captured the signatures of twelve players including notable ones such Mathew Cudjoe, Baba Mahama, Elvis Opoku and Asamoah Gyan, who is still on the sideline due to an injury.
But the fact is, coach Walker deployed a solid lineup of 4-3-3 and it proved vital as they players played in their comfortable positions.
They were bright and better from the onset and dominating from start to finish.
Scoring three unanswered goals which is the highest winning margin this season is laudable. The 1970 Premier League champions are now at the summit of the table with 4 points and four goals from two matches.
As to whether coach Walker can lead them to a title glory remains to be seen but the truth of the matter is the team has been a reflection of the coach and his hardwork.
