Residents of the Bimbagu South electoral area in the Bunkprugu/Nakpanduri constituency of the North East Region have boycotted the 2020 general election.
A visit to some of the polling stations in the area by JoyNews’ Correspondent, Eliasu Tanko showed electoral officials sitting idle with no electorate to attend to.
The residents are, however, seen around the polling centre going about their usual duties.
According to the residents, their reason for boycotting this year's elections is because successive governments have sidelined the area in terms of developmental projects.

The residents also complained about bad roads, lack of potable water, inadequate educational infrastructure and no access to healthcare.
In October this year, the residents as a group organised a press conference where they revealed that they would not part-take in this years' election after outlining their issues.
True to their word the electorates have refrained from the electoral process today December 7, 2020.
