President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says in his second term in office, he will once again put Ghana on the map as one of Africa’s fastest-growing economy.
“Before the pandemic struck, Ghana in recent years was one of the fastest-growing economies in the World, I give you my word, we will regain that reputation," he said.
Akufo-Addo in his victory speech congratulated the Electoral commission and party agents for what he describes as one of the best elections ever witnessed in the history of Ghana.
"The Electoral Commission even in the midst of the pandemic has done a yeoman's job and we can only urge them to continue on the path of achieving the greatest strides in future.
"The orderly, commendable and peaceful conduct of Ghanaians on election day is to be widely applauded," he said.
Akufo-Addo expressed gratitude to the people of Ghana for voting him into power and trusting him to deliver on his mandate.
He encouraged members of his party to celebrate their hardwork and loyalty to the New Patriotic Party.
"NPP supporters should understandably celebrate and jubilate but desist from untoward acts."
