President Akufo-Addo has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to have a united front in all its endeavours to keep winning despite allegations levelled against the party by their major opponent the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, the NDC does not have the support of most citizens in the country although they are often seen in the media criticising the ruling party.
At a meeting with the Regional Executives and Chairpersons of constituencies in Greater Accra, President Akufo-Addo noted that at this crucial moment where the NDC is challenging the presidential results, it is time for the NPP to maintain its morale and desist from in-house argument that would give the NDC upper-hand.

Analysing presidential results attained since the inception of the Fourth Republic, the President noted that aside former President Jerry John Rawlings, no NDC flagbearer has won the presidential election with 51 per cent.
“NDC people are making so much noise, saying; ‘we won we won,’ however, they could never be quite clear how many seats they had won, they moved from 139, 140 , 141, 145 and then started claiming [John] Mahama had won the 2020 presidential election.
“It all turned out to be false, and we should remember, ever since Jerry John Rawlings left the presidential scene of politics in our country, no NDC presidential candidate has won more than 51 percent of the votes,” he said.

Highlighting results so far, he said, “His successor Mills, in his first-round against John Agyekum Kufour had 44 percent, second round 47 had percent. And in 2008 when he contested against me after three rounds he got 50.03 percent of the vote.
"Mahama in 2012 had 50.7 per cent; in 2016 got 44 per cent of the votes; in 2020 he had 47 per cent of the votes. What these figures tell us is that whenever we the NPP put our acts together we win.”
He then stressed that “The majority is with us, so let us be very clear in our mind, our opponent with all the shouting and their Hey! Hey! Hey! They [NDC] do not have the support of the majority of the people in our country.
“So the future of Ghana, the future of this country is in our [NPP] hands. It is the function of how we behave, how we organize ourselves that will determine how the country will also move ahead."
