The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South has taken measures to solve many challenges faced by residents in the Municipality.
The Akatsi South Municipality in the Volta Region lacks many social amenities but the most pressing include the absence of potable drinking water and a health facility.
Consequently, the absence of a health facility in the community has led to the loss of lives of many and increased maternal mortality.
Akatsi South MCE Leo Nelson Adzidogah together with the Traditional Council led the construction of a CHPS compound in the Assembly to address the phenomenon.
"When I came to office, the Chief of the town approached me and we built one health facility. We saw the need to put up this facility for the people to take care of their health needs for now," Mr Adzidogah told Joy News.
According to him, witnessing the death of pregnant woman urged the construction of the health facility.
Mr Nelson Adzidogah also disclosed that the Assembly has also procured a borehole to address the issue of lack of water.

The Akatsi South Municipality has also seen the construction of a market for traders under his administration.

Two other markets are yet to be completed in the Akwave and Atedzive communities.
Residents in the Municipality are well-known for their farming activities.
