The 107th Ghana Premier League meeting between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak produced no winner on Sunday after the two teams missed a penalty.
Kotoko failed to convert their spot-kick in the first half while Hearts of Oak missed theirs in the second department as the match ended in a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Both teams also hit the woodwork in a game played in the absence of fans, for the first time, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Referee Selorm Yao Bless awarded the first penalty in the 2nd minute when he adjudged Mohammed Alhassan to have fouled striker Kwame Opoku.
The striker, who is Kotoko's top scorer this season with seven goals, saw his kick saved by Richard Attah.
The goalkeeper injured himself as he made a full stretch to save the penalty. He required treatment to continue with the game.
A few minutes later, Hearts of Oak came close to opening the scoring through Patrick Razak but his shot from close range hit the post.
Razak also missed a couple of decent opportunities before substitute Isaac Mensah was presented with a glorious chance to secure three points for Hearts.
The striker, who scored the winning goal for Hearts in their previous two games, was brought down in the box by Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora in the 72nd minute.
But the Black Stars shot-stopper made amends by producing a great save to deny Mensah.
Less than 10 minutes to end proceedings, Opoku hit the bar with a ferocious strike after evading two challenges.
It was the last real chance of the pulsating game. The result means Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have the same points, 24, four adrift of league leaders Karela United, however, Kotoko have two games in hand.
