Former NDC MP for Kumbungu Ras Mubarak is calling for a shakeup in the NDC minority leadership in Parliament.
This follow the inability of the Caucus to vote against some Ministerial nominees of President Akufo-Addo.
Speaking to JoyNews’ Manuel Koranteng, he said leadership of the NDC in the House failed to strategise and make gains on their numbers.
“As far as I am concerned there is no better time to look at the leadership change when clearly the base of the party feels let down by the caucus in Parliament.
"These are proceedings that we also on television, what accounts for the numbers that we had in Parliament yesterday? Clearly, something must have gone amiss,” Mr Mubarak said.
He stated that many NDC supporters and "neutral" Ghanaians are all disappointed in the party leadership for failing to stand their ground.
"I don't see how we can resuscitate confidence in the leadership of the House if there is no shake up either a complete overhaul or a partial overhaul."
He, however, fell short of naming who should be made to take the mantle explaining that he would not want to speculate who should be chosen since he is no longer an MP.
Parliament voted to approve the nominations of Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Hawa Koomson and Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto whom the NDC MPs on the Appointment Committee had opposed.
After secret balloting, Food and Agriculture Minister-designate, Dr Afriyie Akoto polled 143 votes (53.96%) out of the 265 ballots issued with one spoilt ballot.
Mavis Hawa Koomson also secured 161 votes (60.75%) while Mr Oppong Nkrumah accrued 155 votes (58.65%).
This outcome which saw three ministers-designate exceed 50% makes them eligible for approval per the Standing Orders in Parliament.

In all the House approved of all 13 ministerial nominees in the Appointment Committee’s report.
Following the ballot, National Communications Officer of the NDC Sammy Gyamfi said the party’s parliamentary leadership failed the party.
Specifically naming Tamale South MP, Haruna Iddrisu and Asawase MP, Muntaka Mubarak, Sammy Gyamfi said the duo “brazenly defied the leadership of the party and betrayed the collective good for their selfish interest.”
“And we, must not let them succeed in their parochial quest to destroy the NDC, the party that has done so much for them and all of us. The shame they have brought on the party will forever hang like an albatross around their necks,” he said in a piece on his Facebook page, March 4.
However, Ras Mubarak condemned Sammy Gyamfi’s attack on the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin describing it as unfortunate.
“It was not the Speaker of Parliament who held the hands of some NDC MPs vote in the manner that they did."
"It is completely wrong for somebody to seek to attack the integrity of the Speaker for the turn of events in the House. Normally in Parliament Speakers would defer to the House. They are chairing, that is their job, they are not dictating.”
He said that blame cannot be laid on the doorstep of the Speaker when it was the party leadership that failed to strategise.
