President Akufo-Addo on Friday, March 5, swore in the Ministers designate approved by Parliament's Appointment Committee after a rigorous vetting process.

Out of the 30 ministers designate the President sent to parliament, 28 of have been vetted and approved.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, President Akufo-Addo said he was proud the nominees exhibited their capacity to lead their respective sectors for all to see.

"I have had the opportunity to set and work with many of you in my first term of office. Some of you are new to the workings of government nonetheless I am confident that together we will work to realise the vision of the mandate given to me by the Ghanaian people," he said.

President Akufo-Addo urged the new Ministers of State to uphold the interest of the republic and the promotion of the people's well-being during these four more years given by the people of Ghana to do more for them.

"It is a heavy responsibility especially since the Ghanaian people have in clear and emphatic terms demand we protect our progress and transform Ghana for all."

Thus, he encouraged them to ensure the work they embark on is to the benefit of the nation.

The Ministers of State were sworn in at the Jubilee House in a small ceremony with Covid-19 restrictions in place.

The ministers sworn in include Dominic Nitiwul for Defence, Ambrose Dery for Interior, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen for Trade and Industry, Albert Kan Dapaah for National Security, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful for Communications and Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu for Parliamentary Affairs.

Others are Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Kwaku Agyemang Manu for Health, Kwasi Amoako Atta for Roads and Highways, Cecilia Abena Dapaah for Sanitation and Water Resources, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah for Transport and Sarah Adwoa Safo for Gender, Children and Social Protection.

Some others include Ibrahim Awal Mohammed for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Sarah Adwoa Safo for Gender, Children and Social Protection and Ignatius Baffour Awuah for Employment and Labour Relations among others.
