A woman said to be in her mid-30 and living at Bimbilla in the Northern Region took her life in the early hours of Monday, March 15.
According to JoyNews' Regional Correspondent Martina Bugri, the deceased identified as Baamunu who is believed to be a trader left behind five children.
The report filed by Martina Bugri indicates that the lifeless body of Baamunu was found hanging on a mango tree by her son after he returned home from school.
The son who chanced upon his mother’s lifeless body revealed that neighbours came around after he screamed for help.
A neighbour of the deceased who spoke with JoyNews, Abubakari Hamza disclosed that the deceased, Baamunu in the past few days was hardly seen around.
According to him, Baamunu only returned home during late hours of the night when everyone had gone to sleep as she had a lot of debt to settle with her colleague traders.
The family of the deceased has however declined attempts by JoyNews for comments on the matter.
Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased has been deposited at the Bimbilla Hospital and is yet to be released to the family for burial according to Islamic customs.
