The Grammy Awards 2021 are off to a record-breaking start. Not only is it the first time the prestigious ceremony has been held virtually, as well as with a select number of live performances from key artists, but Beyoncé and Jay-Z's eldest daughter Blue Ivy has just won her first Grammy award, making her the second-youngest winner in history.
The nine-year-old earned the award for Best Music Video alongside her mum for the hit song Brown Skin Girl, which also features artists SAINt JHN and WizKid.
The empowering and uplifting song was originally released for The Lion King: The Gift, a soundtrack album curated by Beyoncé for the 2019 animated remake of The Lion King and later for a video in Beyoncé's visual album Black Is King, which debuted on Disney+ in 2020.
Other artists nominated for Best Music Video include Harry Styles for his song "Adore You," Wiz Kid's "Life Is Good" featuring Drake, "Lockdown" by Anderson. Paak and "Goliath" by Woodkid.
Beyoncé's nomination in the category makes her the most nominated artist at this year's ceremony.
Unfortunately, the superstar will not be performing live to celebrate, however, the event is sure to be a star-studded soiree thanks to performances from Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, Doja Cat, Chris Martin, John Mayer, Cardi B, and Billie Eilish will also be taking to the ‘stage.’
