Parliament’s Mines and Energy Committee is set to investigate how undocumented gold is illegally smuggled through the country’s borders.
This follows a JoyNews exposé uncovering how security operatives and politically connected individuals have been aiding a gold smuggling syndicate illegally exporting gold through the country’s air and seaports.
Tonight on PM: Express, Evans Mensah together with his panel of experts probe the stealing of Ghana’s gold, working the billion-dollar leakage.
Guests for the programme include Founder and President, Africa Institute of Extractive Industries (AIEI), Dr Tony Aubynn, MP for Bongo, Member of Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament, Edward Bawa.

Also is Secretary, Prestea Huni Valley Small- Scale Miners Association, Nuhu Mohammed Mustapha and Co-Chair of the Ghana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GHEITI).
