Majority in Parliament says it is offering another conditional support to the minority over its push to get Parliament to probe the Bank of Ghana.
The NDC MPs accused the Central Bank of spending over ¢12 billion without recourse to parliament.
The Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annor Dompreh explained that his side will only lend its full support if the NDC members are able to establish that the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison breached the law.
“As long as there is a law backing it and a legal basis for a probe, why not?" he said on Monday.
The NDC alleges BoG released ¢22 billion to the government for spending in 2020, when in fact the house only approved ¢10 billion for government finances.
On the back of this, the Minority is demanding that both the Finance Minister and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana be made to face the law.
However, the Nsawam Adoagyiri legislator disagrees.
Mr Dompreh believes the minority has no basis for making such demands.
"You can't just get up and alleged A to Z without a basis. If there are legal basis for all of this, let them bring it on. And I will be the first person to support any legal action," he told JoyNews’ Kwesi Parker-Wilson.
