After failing to make a mark in the 2016 edition, Poland have returned with a vengeance. The Eagles were superb during the qualification process, winning eight of 10 matches and losing just once.
During that run, they conceded just five goals (0.5 conceded per game) and netted 18 (1.8 goals scored per game). With the leadership of Lewandowski, Poland now have a chance to put the whole of Europe on red alert.
Slovakia, in comparison, had a tougher road to qualification. After placing third in Group E, they went on to win the Playoff path B to book their place. The Repre are led by Marek Hamsik, a legend in Napoli who will aim to take his country far after a disappointing campaign in 2016.
Look out for Lewandowski
Despite scoring just six goals during the qualifiers, Robert Lewandowski comes into the tournament in fine form after yet another record-breaking campaign with Bayern Munich.
The former Dortmund player managed to score 41 Bundesliga goals, a goal more than the legendary Gerd Muller whilst playing just 29 matches.
He will surely be the focal point of Poland’s attack and Slovakia will have to stop him if they want to win the game.
The odds
Poland are huge favorites in this one with their odds priced at 1.81 by Betway whilst Slovakia’s odds have been priced at 5.08. Robert Lewandowski is the danger man in this one and can find the net in this one. His chances of doing so has been priced at 2.14.
