After getting involved in a pulsating fixture against Netherlands, Ukraine go into matchday two with the aim of securing their first win in the competition.
Andriy Shevchenko’s side produced a huge fight against the Dutch side but in the end fell to a 3-2 defeat. North Macedonia, in comparison, were easily brushed aside by an inspired David Alaba and Austria on matchday one.
The score line of that game was 3-1 and the team will hope to make amends as they prepare to battle a tricky Ukrainian side on Thursday.
Ukraine to grab first win
Ukraine showed against Netherlands that they have all the tools to cause problems against any opposition and North Macedonia will likely be the first to taste their wrath.
Andriy Yarmolenko will be important to their ambition. The West Ham United man was on target in the last game and will likely be trusted by his teammates to make things happen.
If North Macedonia are to earn an unlikely win, Goran Pandev will surely be their man to get the job done. The former Inter Milan man found the net against Austria and will be their spearhead in attack.
The odds
Ukraine are huge favorites to grab a positive result, with their odds priced at 1.62 by Betway. North Macedonia, in comparison, have their odds pinned at 5.76. A draw has been priced at 3.73 odds.
Roman Yaremchuk, a forward for Ukraine has the lowest odds among potential anytime goal scorers with 2.87.
