England have eliminated Germany after beating them 2-0 at Wembley with goals from Raheem Sterling and skipper Harry Kane.
The victory ends Germany’s seven game unbeaten run at Wembley, their last defeat in a competitive fixture at England's national stadium came in the 1966 World Cup final.
Raheem Sterling scorer of both England goals in the group stage got the first goal as he started off and finished a second-half move to send the majority of the 45,000 fans inside Wembley ecstatic.
Kane made sure England got behind the finish line as he headed in Jack Grealish's cross from the left side of the box.
Manager Gareth Southgate also found redemption as he struck a blow against the side he missed the vital penalty against at Euro 96.
Their next step on that journey will be in Rome against Sweden or Ukraine, and after recording a victory which will be remembered for years to come, they will go to Italy full of belief.
