Kugzua Primary School in the Tempane District of the Upper East region has benefited from a donation of 100 dual desks, courtesy of Concern Citizens of Kusaug.
The donation was to ensure the school children study in a conducive environment.
Secretary of the group says the school children now have a reason to smile because they had to sit on bare classroom floors for lessons.
The school that was established in 1982 has been facing furniture challenge for many years.
This donation will therefore go a long way towards helping the children in their studies.
The school has a population of 251 children and they walk distant apart for their classes.
Speaking during the handing-over ceremony at the school’s compound, CCK General Secretary Mumuni Fuseini Azonko noted that the donation was part of the the group's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
Tempane District Director of Education, Tee Rashid Anaffu expressed satisfaction about the donation and promised to make good use of the furniture.
Mr. Anaffu said the desks will go along way to improve teaching and learning in the school.
