The Ghana Institution of Engineering is engaging with the Engineering Council to conduct investigation into the tragic incident at the Juaben Oil Mills, in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.
“As an immediate step, in line with the Engineering Council Act 2011, Act 819, the GhIE is engaging with the Engineering Council to conduct investigation of the occurrence”, it said in a statement.
The (GhIE) also expressed sadness regarding the tragic incident.
The accident resulted in the death of three persons, two of whom are said to be students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi on an internship programme.
The GhIE therefore extended its sincere condolences to the bereaved families of the victims.
The GhIE added it remains available to assist all engineering practitioners, engineering firms and engineering educational units to meet the requirements of Act 819 and LI 2410 and to comply accordingly.
