Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has taken to Twitter to wish former President John Agyekum Kufuor a happy birthday as he marks his 83rd birthday.
In a tweet, he said "Happy Birthday H.E John Agyekum Kufuor, former President of the Republic of Ghana. Sir, we celebrate you for your service to your country. Chop cake."

The former President, born on December 8, 1938, served the country as President from January 7, 2001, to January 7, 2009, when John Evans Atta Mills took over. Kuffour succeeded Jerry John Rawlings.
He also served as Chairperson of the African Union from 2007 to 2008.
He can be remembered for successes in the Health sector such as the introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to replace the existent cash-and-carry system. 11 million Ghanaians were registered under this scheme.
He is also responsible for setting up the National Ambulance Service and building more than 205 hospitals and clinics.Â
In addition, he built a state-of-the-art emergency centre at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and introduced free maternal health care in public hospitals for all expectant mothers.
Kufuor institutionalised the capitation grant for school children at the basic level, whereby each student was entitled to $2 for cultural sports and development.
He is also celebrated for diligently performing roles such as Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, etc.
