A Tamale Magistrate Court presided over by his worship Amadu Issifu has adjourned for the third time the case involving the Headmaster of the St Charles Liwanga Junior High School who is standing trial.
The headteacher, Emmanuel Chingya, who is accused of manslaughter is expected to reappear in court on February 25.
The case was adjourned on Monday, December 13 after prosecutors sought for more time to conduct their investigations.
At the sitting, prosecutors told the court they were awaiting advice from the Attorney General’s office.
Meanwhile, Tamale High Court has granted Mr Chingya bail to the tune of GHC300,000 with two sureties.
Emmanuel Chingya is said to have sent 31 students of the St. Charles Lwanga Junior High School in the Saboba District of the Northern Region to his farm when one of the two canoes they were traveling with capsized in the Oti River.
Nine out of the 31 students drowned in the process.
The headmaster has since being interdicted by the Ghana Education Service.
