The AritaGlobe Foundation on Saturday, February 26, 2022, held a luncheon for students of the Akropong School for the blind.
The event which began with a prayer session and a powerful worship moment amongst other activities was dubbed “Joy of Love” to climax the month of love in a glorious style ahead of the new month.
Speaking at the event, a board member of the AritaGlobe Foundation and former Teacher of the school, John Majisi introduced the vision and mission of the foundation.
“Today is a great day. The AritaGlobe Foundation is a non-profit organisation that seeks to create an excellent world for children, youth, women, vulnerable, deprived and persons with disability which is supported by a very powerful and dedicated team."
“We are here today to pay you a visit, spend time with you and also mark the birthday celebration of our Executive Director, Princess Arita Anim who was born on 14th February. I can assure you, today will not be our last time here,” Mr Majisi said.
Executive Director of the foundation, Princess Arita Anim was elated at the opportunity to give back to society. The students who couldn’t hide their joy with a clap offering received each of her statements with so much gratitude and love.
According to her, the day was not only to mark her birthday celebration as the founder of the foundation but most importantly, as a special moment of her life to begin the first project of the year for the team with the Akropong School for the blind.
“I believe that vulnerability is not a disadvantage. Everyone deserves to be loved and cherished. No one was born a mistake. I want you all to know that you’re loved, cherished and adored. Keep believing, do what you can do best. It is possible,” Princess said.
The programme which lasted for about two hours allowed the school band to perform some local gospel songs which brought mixed emotions.
The AritaGlobe Foundation team later feted the students t some refreshments with all the 310 students and their teachers in attendance.
The team also presented 6 yards of Ankara fabrics each to all the nine house mothers and donated assorted items including a bag of rice, clothes, sachets of water, washing powder and a toilet roll to the school.
The school authorities expressed gratitude to the team and handed over a letter of appreciation for the good work done.
The group also visited the Bread of life SDA Church - Danfa, where donations of similar items were done.
