Gospel Musician, Piesie Esther, has stated that her limelight is still bright despite not getting nominated for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2023.
She believes there are greater achievements ahead, hence, her decision to move on and continue doing good songs.
She told Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli that, getting nominated by such an award scheme is an add-on that complements the work of any artistes, however, her song not being nominated is not the end of the road because she will soon release a new song that will be better than the one she submitted for the Awards.
“My light is still shinning, it will not dim on me. I will soon release a new song that will be a bunger,” Piesie stated.
She revealed that after submitting "Wobedi Adanse" to the VGMA board and being notified of the song's submission by the Organisers, she was hopeful it would receive nominations.
The ‘Me Nti Ase’ hitmaker added that the song has good lyrics and is of standard quality that qualifies it for nomination and needs explanation on why it was not nominated for the event.
“I want to say the Ghana Music Awards has not dealt with me rightfully, I want to pour the pains in my heart here so someone can relay it to them because it’s unfair that my song ‘Wobedi Adansie’ was not nominated,” Piesie lamented.
The organisers of the 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards have begun releasing the list of nominees for this year’s awards.
The categories that have already been released are made up of some of the public’s favorite acts.
Without stating any specific category, Piesie Esther believes she did all it takes for the song to get the nomination so it was surprising to her why it was not.
Adding to that, she stated that she is not against the other nominees but her song deserves the same recognition since it performed better than most of the nominated songs.
