Founder of mNotify Company and Chatbots Africa, Ronald Tagoe has been adjudged the Best Science and Technology Personality of the Year at the just-ended maiden edition of the 2022 Forty Under 40 Africa Awards.
The prestigious award was in recognition of his dedication and commitment to building the science and technology world on the continent as well as being a respected company advocating for best business practices in the sector.
Speaking to the media after receiving the award, Ronald Tagoe said he was grateful to his family, friends and everyone who has supported his dreams thus far.
He especially mentioned his committed staff who work tirelessly to make sure the company delivers the best always.
"This all-important award has come to complement our ten years anniversary celebration. We are indeed grateful to the Almighty God for what started as something small in KNUST has turned out to be a global icon. I urge everyone to watch out for Chatbots Africa, an initiative developed to champion conversational commerce in Africa and to help African SMEs automate their business operations using self-service A.I. - powered Chatbots", he said.
Mr Tagoe took the opportunity to urge governments across the continent to keep investing in Science and Technology since that is the direction the world has moved into for good.
This year's event which saw dignitaries across the continent was in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in Ghana and the Ministry of Youth and Sports which seeks to identify, honour and celebrate a cross-section of the continent's most influential and accomplished business leaders under the age forty from a wide range of industries which includes people committed to business growth, professional excellence and community services.
Ronald Tagoe is a computer science student in KNUST and co-founded mNotify (in 2012), a telecommunications company (SMS and Voice Technology) formed with the objective of developing innovative communication tools that allow brands to grow their reach, engage their audience and build customer loyalty in a more targeted and cost-effective approach.
The tools include Bulk SMS, Bulk Voice Calls and USSD.
His passion for Artificial intelligence and belief that social commerce is the future of commerce in Africa, lead him to start Chatbot Africa in order to empower Africa SMEs to increase their revenue and enhance their customers' engagement using Artificial Intelligence and Chatbots (Conversational Commerce).
Chatbot Africa is currently registered in Ghana and in Kenya. Chatbots Africa is only five months old but its bots have processed over USD 50,000 worth of transactions and already won an award.
He is a 2014 Transformed Africa Youth Innovation Award Winner, Afric Up 2019 Finalist, 2021 Tech Cabal Future of Commerce Partnership Pitch Winner and Technology Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 ( Organized by Ghana Startup Network).
