The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has announced it will be reconstructing the transmission lines from the Achimota substation through Avenor to the Mallam substation.
“The work involves talking out of service, two 161KV transmission lines (I.e. Achimota – Accra Central and Achimota – Mallam) from Saturday April 9, 2022, to Thursday June 30, 2022,” it stated.
During this period, customers served by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) between the Achimota substation in Dzorwulu and Avenor in Accra will experience power outages during the day.

“The outage is to enable GRIDCo to upgrade the transmission capacity on each line. This important exercise is to meet the growing demand for electricity in Accra and its environs,” GRIDCO explained.
“GRIDCo apologises for any inconvenience caused during the period.”
