Total Petroleum Ghana PLC has supported three young entrepreneurs who emerged winners of three categories in the 3rd edition of the Total Startupper of the Year Challenge with GHS 70,000 each to enhance the progress of their businesses.
Miss Adriana Appiagyei Nsiah Nimo of Reecoplast won the Best Business Creation Category, Mr. Mathias Charles Yabe of Akofresh won the Best Business Startup under 3 years old whiles Miss Anaporka Adazabra of Farmio Ltd. also won the Best Female Entrepreneurship Category.
Speaking at the Ceremony at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, Managing Director of Total Petroleum Ghana PLC, Mr Olufemi Babajide stated that TotalEnergies is committed to also providing the winners with professional coaching to support them financially and improve their exposure.
He said "apart from supporting them financially, we're also going to provide them with financial coaching because if your business is doing well and you're not able to uphold financial discipline, your business isn't going to flourish."
He also stated that some key objectives of the 3rd Edition of the Total Startupper of the Year Challenge include Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment and promotion of Innovation and this was carried out in 32 countries across Africa.
Deputy Minister for Energy, Andrew Agyapa Mercer applauded the initiative by TotalEnergies and also expressed the commitment of his Ministry to ensure the lights are on.
"It is important that I re-echo vision of my Minister, which is to ensure that the lights are on and to support any initiative that supports the industrialization agenda by Government."
TotalEnergies' Startupper of the Year is designed to financially assist young entrepreneurs who enter the competition to pitch their business projects and ideas.
