Ghanaians were, on Wednesday morning, thrown into a state of mourning after learning about the death of the legendary musician, A.B. Crentsil.
Although the cause of his death is unknown, the musician had been ill for a while. AB Crenstil died at the age of 79.
Months before he passed, the singer-songwriter had charred a few nuggets of wisdom with the youth who want to venture into music and the young ones who were already plying the trade.
Speaking to JoyNews’ Becky, A.B. Crentsil in December 2021 advised young musicians to plan well when making a move in the industry.
He said that artistes should have a carefully laid out plan to aid them in the execution of their goals.
AB Crentsil added that budding musicians need to have enjoyable songs and also perform well for people to like their craft.
He explained that these were what kept him going in the music industry for decades. AB Crentsil spoke after performing at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill Christmas event in December last year.
AB Crentsil's death was announced on Facebook by sound engineer, Fred Kyei Mensah.
The musician who has been bene entertaining Ghanaians since the 1970s Crentsil has played with the El Dorados and the Sweet Talks bands. Sweet Talks later under the joint leadership of Crentsil and Smart Nkansah, became the resident band at The Talk Of The Town Hotel in Tema, with Crentsil as lead singer.
He later formed his own band Ahenfo Band.
