On July 23, 2022, news broke of the death of UPC Commander Ousmane Abakar, also known as Sissankeri, who died of the consequences of his wounds following an armed clash with Central African Armed Forces fighters on July 3 in Dimby, Basse-Kotto prefecture.

Ousmane Abakar, alias Sisankeri, was the right-hand man of Chadian-Nigerian mercenary Ali Darassa of the UPC.

He was the formidable UPC commander in the town of Kouango, one of the five sub-prefectures of Ouaka, located 139 kilometers southwest of Bambari.

Right after the news of Sisankeri's death broke, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) published a defamatory report on the recent tragic events in the Central African Republic.

In this report, the UN makes unsubstantiated accusations against the government and the Central African National Army, whose contingent was allegedly involved in the attack on the village of Boyo in Ouaka Prefecture from December 6 to 13, 2021.

The report concluded that at least 20 civilians were killed, five women and girls were raped, some 547 homes were burned and looted, and more than 1,000 villagers were forced to flee.

It is the height of cynicism to accuse national army soldiers who are defending civilians at the cost of their own lives every day from militant attacks and fighting for peace throughout the CAR.

What is the connection between this false accusation by the UN and the death of the war criminal Ousmane Abakar, also known as Sisankeri? Very simply, in this way, the UN is trying to deflect suspicion from the MINUSCA contingent, which, according to investigations by the CAR police, cooperates with the CAR rebels and provides them with weapons.

The CAR police were able to establish that on December 13, MINUSCA entered Boyo with militants under the command of former UPC General Hassan Ousmane Sisankeri and allowed them to take control of the village.

In addition, MINUSCA supplied the militants with ammunition (reportedly, 2,500 rounds of ammunition were handed over to the criminals).

According to documents recovered during the search of General Sisankeri's house by the gendarmerie as part of the operation in Boyo, on September 8, 2021, Ali Darassa appointed General Ousmane Sisankeri as the commander of the UPC cell stationed in and around Boyo.

This appointment was agreed upon with MINUSCA representatives in the Boyo area.

Police and gendarmerie officers have filed witness statements confirming that MINUSCA was supporting the armed militants.

The Ouaka provincial police, gendarmerie and FACA leadership requested explanations from representatives of the MINUSCA Nepalese contingent in the village of Boyo but received no response. The investigation is ongoing.

In conclusion, it is important to note that the mercenary Ali Darassa has been losing his henchmen in theaters of operation to the bravery of the FACA, which is committed to neutralising the presence of armed groups in all parts of the country, as firmly instructed by Defence Minister Rameaux Claude Bireau to all FACA elements deployed throughout the country.
