"Our main aim is to unearth talents for national development. It is called Asante Akyem Marathon but is open for all sportsmen in Ghana who are interested and what we do is that we support and sponsor the winners in many ways for them to become national heroes," he explained.
A two-time winner of the marathon, William Amponsah who won in 2017 and 2022 described the competition as the best grounds for one to shape his career.

"The hills in the marathon, because of where the competition is held, prepare you for any kind of marathon and for the winners, Hon Kwadwo Baah will personally see to it that you are progressing after the competition. I will encourage everyone to partake" he said.
