About seventy Military officers under the Northern Command from all ranks and units including the Ghana Airforce, are undergoing a four-week training programme at the 6 Infantry Battalion, Kamina Barracks in Tamale in the Northern Region.
The programme is to prepare officers around subjects on explosive devices and small unit tactics. The rest are basic weapon training, fighting in built-up areas and First aid.

The Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) led by Captain J. Cejka in partnership with the Headquarters, Northern Command, initiated the programme to prepare the command (personnel) against any unforeseen threats in the corridor.

The Deputy Command Operations Officer, Lt. Col P. Nadom challenged the participants to take up the training seriously together with the foreign delegation.

On the objectives of the training, the Command Operations Officer, Northern Command, Colonel FWK Agbebo on behalf of the General Officer Commanding Northern Command, briefed the participants on the challenges from the unpredictable nature of the threats from the Sahel region especially Burkina Faso.
He emphasised that "the training with SFAB is geared towards producing a more proactive force to contain these threats including violent extremism", he noted.

Captain J Cejka assured the Command of SFAB’s readiness in building capacity to train participants to counter terrorism and violent extremism.
