Nigerian musician Burna Boy won the Best International Act award at the 2023 BET Awards ceremony.
The event took place on Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, U.S.
This is Burna Boy's fourth Best International Act award. he dorst won it in 2019 then subsequently in 2020 and 2021.
He beat Aya Nakamura (France), Ayra Starr (Nigeria), Central Cee (UK), Ella Mai (UK), Ko (South Africa), L7nnon (Brazil), Stormzy (UK), Tiakola (France) and Uncle Waffles (Swaziland) to win the award.
However, Ghanaian artiste, Camidoh narrowly missed out on the 2023 BET Viewers Choice: Best New International Act award.
The award was clinched by the Cameroonian singer/songwriter Libianca.
Singer/songwriter Tems took home the “Best Collaboration” award for her contribution to Future’s ‘Wait For U’ featuring Drake.
Meanwhile, despite winning the Best International Act, Burna Boy lost the Best Male R&B / Pop Artist to Usher and Chris Brown who were tied for the award.
SZA and Beyoncé each won three times, including tying for the Album of the Year Award.
HipHop star Busta Rhymes received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the event that marked 50 years of HipHop.
Nigerian singer Davido also performed two songs 'Feel It; and 'Unavailable' all from his latest album Timeless.
