Ghana international Mohammed Salisu has officially completed his transfer move to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The central defender joins the French club on a five-year deal which will see him stay until the summer of 2028.
“AS Monaco are delighted to announce the arrival of central defender Mohammed Salisu from Southampton Football Club. The 24-year-old Ghana international has signed a 5-season deal and is now tied to the Principality club until June 2028,” Monaco announced.
Salisu joins the club from Southampton, who suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 season.
The 24-year-old had a year left on his deal at St Mary's Park but Monaco moved swiftly to secure his signature in a deal said to be worth 17 million Euros.
His last appearance for the Saints was in March and was dropped towards the end of last season owing to worries about his commitment.
He moved to Southampton for £10.9 million, where he spent a fruitful three-year stint before leaving. Salisu made a total of 80 appearances in all competitions for the club during his stay in England.
