Newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side, Bofoakwa Tano, have announced the transfer of defender, Mohammed Fuseini to Iraqi second-tier club, Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya.
This is after the centre-back captained the Sunyani-based club to gain promotion to the Ghana top-flight after over a decade in the Division One League.
“We officially confirm that our captain Fuseini has been transferred to Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya S.C in IRAQ after a non Financial Agreement was met," Bofoakwa Tano said in a statement on Wednesday.
"We thank him for his years of selfless service to this Great club and wish him well.”
Mohammed Fuseini has become the latest Ghana Premier League player to move to the Gulf country after former Hearts of Oak defender, Mohammed Alhassan sealed a move to Iraqi outfit, Amanat Baghdad SC, two weeks ago.
The central defender played 13 times for Asante Kotoko during the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season as the club failed to reclaim the league title.
Alhassan was a member of the Hearts of Oak team that were champions of the Ghana League two seasons ago before joining the Porcupine Warriors.
These moves are happening on the back of discussions about player welfare in the Ghana league, with Legon Cities goalkeeper, Sylvester Sackey succumbing to death after short illness.
Another Legon Cities goalkeeper, William Essu, is sick and seeking financial assistance to treat himself.
