Ghanaian gospel sensation, Cwesi Oteng, has opined that he does not support the idea of secular artists writing gospel music.
In a recent interview on Day Break Hitz with DJ Slim, the singer added that a secular artist must have a deeper connection with Jesus Christ in order to write a song for a gospel musician.
According to him, when secular artists don’t have a great relationship with Christ, it impacts the songs they write for gospel musicians.
Cwesi Oteng added that in considering secular artists to write a gospel song, one should at least consider people who are respected by society for what they do.
He also made comments on Joyce Blessing's new song, ‘Victory,’ which was written by highlife artiste Kuami Eugene.
Cwesi Oteng added that the songwriter made a song that resonates well with Joyce Blessing’s life struggle and as long as the words reflect positivity into her life, it is acceptable.
