The District Chief Executive of Adansi-Akrofrom, Maurice Jonas Woode, says the construction of a hospital in the area under the government’s Agenda 111 initiative will resume by the end of October.
The project has been suspended for almost a year.
In an interview with Nana Jantuah on Nhyira FM’s Kuro Yi Mu Nsɛm, the DCE expressed optimism that the contractors will return to site to work on the project.
“When the project commenced, the two contractors, Saachi, the lead contractor, and Jabora, who was in charge of the other blocks, worked with speed. Our project was leading that of Adansi-Asokwa, and so we believed that we would be done in no time.
“Presently, the Adansi-Asokwa project has been roofed while our project remains in this state. For the past year, when the decision was made to suspend the project, we were told they were changing the design. So, we’ve been waiting for them to do that, work on the cost, and contact the contractors. It was later realized that only part of the land could be used in putting up the pharmacy and the mortuary," said Mr. Woode.
He noted that “by the end of this month, they’re supposed to return to the construction site.”
