Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has urged the newly elected leadership of the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) to genuinely represent the interests of their fellow students.
The Manyhia South Member of Parliament emphasised that student leadership provides valuable preparation for various roles in society.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh in a Facebook post on Wednesday, December 20, encouraged the newly elected leaders to serve diligently and enhance their capacities.

He thus assured them of his readiness to assist whenever needed.

“My passion for youth-centred engagements once again, made me honour an invitation last night, of the Handing Over and Excellence Awards of the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) at the British Council, Accra.”

“In congratulating the outgoing executives on a successful tenure, I reiterated the need for the new leaders of the Union to ensure that they truly represent the ideals and aspirations of the students they serve.”
“I reminded them that, many leaders of today, across the spectrum of society – Clergy, Businessmen, Politicians, among others, used student leadership as preparatory grounds and thus, the need for them to use the opportunity to serve with diligence,” he posted.
