The spokesperson of the New Force, Shalimar Abbiusi has shared her experience following her arrest by the National Bureau of Investigations and the Immigration Service, leading to her subsequent repatriation to Belgium.
Sharing her experience for the first after the incident, she described her ordeal as both horrible and a learning curve.
Speaking on JoyNews Upfront she explained that her arrest opened her eyes to the issues in the Ghanaian system, as well as what many who could not afford lawyers had to endure daily.
Recounting her experience, she said it was as though her whole humanity was stripped away, as she was subjected to the treatment like a terrorist.
She added that in the place she was kept by the Immigration, some individuals had stayed there for nine months.Â
Despite her horrid experience, she looks forward to returning to the country to contribute and make it better, helping to improve the system to prevent people from enduring a similar plight.
