The Member of Parliament for Agotime Ziope, Charles Agbeve has committed resources toward skills development to build a robust local economy.
He has rolled out a programme that would see his constituents train in various skills to enable them to partake in economic activities to enhance their livelihoods and that of their dependents.
At what could best be described as a mini rally of the National Democratic Congress in Kpetoe, 122 constituents graduated over the weekend under the "Youth in Skill Training Initiative" as the first batch of trainees.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Agbeve explained that the initiative is geared towards curbing unemployment in the constituency and ensuring people have employable skills.
He said that the programme would be expanded to offer training in male-dominated professions, while a hostel facility would be provided to house the beneficiaries to ensure effective training.
“In the next batch, we will allocate quota for males and introduce training in electrical wiring, carpentry, masonry, and plumbing, among others”, he said.

Mr. Agbeve added that he would lobby for the establishment of a Technical Vocation Education Training Center in the Constituency under the next NDC government.
The Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Bedzrah, urged the beneficiaries to put the skills acquired to good use and lauded Mr. Agbeve for the magnitude of the programme.
“Let me put on record that this is the first of its kind in Ghana and this constituency. I have tried but not to this number that I am seeing today. Other colleagues have done theirs, but not as many as I am seeing today. And so clearly, Charles has distinguished himself among all the Members of Parliament in Ghana”, he explained.
He charged the beneficiaries to be “apostles of the NDC” and preach the good works of the MP and the party in their localities, and canvas for votes.
