Team Ghana began Day 3 of the Tennis on a high with Nortey Isaac and Asaba Abraham progressing to the round of 16 but suffered lows following defeats to Bagerbaseh Lameck and Crawford Ruth.
In the Men’s Singles, Isaac ease past Allan Terry of Burundi by winning two of the three sets 4-6 6-4 3-6 to advance to the next stage where he faces Zimbabwe’s Benjamin Lock.
Abraham also set up a clash against Egypt’s Mohammed Safwat after claiming a 6-3 6-2 victory over Lock Benjamin of Zimbabwe.
However, Bagerbaseth Lameck could not continue the flawless run after losing 6-4 6-2 to Mohamed Aziz from Tunisia.
In the Women’s Singles, Crawford Ruth suffered defeat to Mari-Louise of South Africa in two sets 6-1 6-2 and eventually got eliminated.
The round of 16 stage begins on Monday at the Borteyman Sports Complex.
