Ghana will not participate in the inaugural Mandela African Boxing Cup, which starts on Monday, April 15 in Durban, South Africa.
Sources say Ghana made the decision after choosing to participate in next month's Olympic Games Qualifier in Thailand.
The Black Bombers and the Black Hitters are set to participate in next month's Olympic Qualifier scheduled for 22nd May to 2nd June, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ghana's withdrawal means the tournament will proceed without two of the originally invited teams after Zambia pulled out citing financial constraints.
Spokesperson for Ghana's Amateur Boxing Federation, Joojo Ephson said: "The priority is to prepare our boxers with the limited resources available for the upcoming Olympic Qualifiers in Bangkok Thailand.
"Team Ghana will be represented by six men and one woman (US-based middleweight 75Kg) Ornella Sathoud."
Ghana's boxing team recently participated in the African Games where they won four gold medals, a silver and a bronze.
