Twenty-three Ghanaian women national teams coaches are undergoing a five-day training with instructors from the French Football Federation in Prampram.
The exchange program is made possible through the Ghana Football Association’s longstanding partnership with the French Embassy in Ghana.
Instructors from the French Football Federation are facilitating the training sessions at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
The five-day long event started on Monday and will conclude on Friday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Tuesday, the French Ambassador to Ghana, Jules Armand Aniambossou, says the embassy is partnering the GFA to train women national team coaches because they have the same vision to develop women’s football.
“So, we, Ghana and France, are very involved, very excited, and very committed to this program.
“Today is a key milestone. We brought two coaches from the French Federation to train these coaches and exchange knowledge as well.
The President of the GFA, Kurt Okraku, says the training is necessary because they want to align all newly appointed coaches of the recently created national teams.
“I think that today's programme is very key to the development of female sport. Getting such platforms is the only way to build the sport.
“Getting platforms like this to exchange knowledge to impart knowledge to our coaches is a key part of our agenda.”

The GFA says the training for the Coaches is part of a strategic initiative that is designed to revolutionise Women’s football in Ghana.
