Alan Kyerematen, the leader of the Movement for Change and an Independent Presidential candidate, has asserted his readiness to lead Ghana during what he describes as a critical moment for the country. 

In an interview with Citi FM on Wednesday, July 3, Mr. Kyerematen highlighted his cross-party appeal and positioned himself as the ideal candidate for the presidency.

In the interview, Mr Kyerematen underscored his belief that his leadership qualities and track record make him the right choice for Ghana's presidency at this time. 

He stressed his ability to garner support from across the political spectrum, noting that many within his former party, the NPP, still back him and view him favourably as a presidential candidate.

According to Mr Kyerematen, his candidacy represents a unifying force in Ghanaian politics, aiming to transcend partisan divisions and focus on delivering effective governance. 

He expressed confidence in his ability to lead the country through challenges and capitalise on opportunities for national development.

“I am the president Ghana needs at this time. When you have a divided country, you need somebody who resonates with people from different political parties, whether it is the NDC or the NPP."

“Even now that I’ve left the NPP, I can tell that the majority of the rank and file within the NPP will still prefer me as president; they still love me, and there is no doubt about that. This is because they know the contributions I have made not only to the formation of the NPP but also to the country,” he stated.

Mr Kyerematen reaffirmed his belief in his capacity to enhance the livelihoods of Ghanaians, including those affiliated with the NPP.

“Even the rank and file of the party, and the majority of them know my worth, and they know that if I am president, their lives would be better than any other person," he added.
