Ryan Garcia just can't help himself. The controversial boxer is maintaining a strong social media presence in light of his year-long suspension from the ring -- and he might have just upset someone he couldn't afford to anger.
Garcia, unable to fight professionally until 2025 due to a performance-enhancing drug scandal, continues to poke and prod at boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya, who recently condemned racist posts Garcia sent from his X/Twitter account.
Since retiring from the sport, De La Hoya's pride and joy has been Golden Boy Promotions -- of which he is founder, chairman, and CEO. But now, Garcia wants to satiate his hunger for success with a slice of the Golden Boy's pie.
Garcia wants Golden Boy Promotions!
De La Hoya on Sunday asked his X/Twitter followers who would win a hypothetical bout between Garcia and Vergil Ortiz Jr. -- two of his many clients with Golden Boy Promotions. To raise the stakes just a little bit, Garcia quoted the post and said, "winner gets your company."
Hypothetically, who wins at 154 @VergilOrtiz or @RyanGarcia

Golden Boy Promotions is valued at roughly $450 million, but De La Hoya has held firm on his personal valuation of $1 billion. However, the former WBC light middleweight title-holder has no immediate plans to sell, and his post on X seems to indicate that he will put the wheels in motion for a Garcia - Ortiz showdown -- which Garcia has, in his inimitable way, declared he would win, despite Ortiz's perfect 21-0 record.
With Garcia suspended until next year following a positive test for Ostarine, any showdown between the two Golden Boy clients will have to wait until 2025 at the earliest. It's also conditional on Garcia -- whose personal problems have made international headlines -- getting his metaphorical ducks in a row amid speculation that he is off to rehab.
