The seven are currently receiving treatment at the Kade Government Hospital and the St. Dominic Catholic Hospital following the accident which occurred at Adankrono.
The firefighters were on their way to Otwenkwanta after receiving an emergency call at approximately 08:37 hours Sunday morning, where a fuel tanker had veered off the road at Otwenkwanta.
According to a statement from the Ghana National Fire Service, the team was dispatched to the scene at 08:38 hrs. However, while navigating a curve past the Gaso filling station, their fire engine got involved in an accident.
It is unclear how the accident occurred, but a preliminary probe points to a potential steering lock issue. At the time of the accident, eight personnel were aboard the fire engine, bearing the registration number FS 438.
One occupant escaped without injury.

Five team members were transported to St. Dominic Hospital in Akwatia, while the driver and the duty officer were sent to the Kade Government Hospital.
Eastern Regional Fire Service Commander, ACFO Jennifer Naa Yarley Quaye, visited both hospitals and the accident site to reassure concerned parties.
She confirmed that all personnel are in stable condition and responding well to treatment.
