MSc Health Entrepreneurship students at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are enhancing their research skills with the help of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), a powerful tool for examining complex data relationships and drawing meaningful conclusions.
Recognizing the importance of SEM, the Africa Higher Education Health Collaborative, KNUST, in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, organized a workshop on SEM for these students.
The seminar carried out by the Health Ecosystem pillar led by Dr Joseph Owusu seeks to train and prepare a new generation of talented professionals with the broad sets of skills required to drive equitable and inclusive growth in Ghana’s health sector.
“This SEM will help you wherever you find yourself. It will help you make informed decisions,” Dr. Owusu said.
The students have already received training on Intellectual Property, regulatory issues and legal aspects of health business as well as, family business conflict.
Head of the Department of Marketing and Corporate Strategy, Prof. Bylon Abeeku Bamfo urged the participants to take the sessions very seriously.
“Make sure at the end of the programme, you can acquire these skills. It’ll go a long way to help you,” he said.
Lead facilitator, Dr. Henry Ataburo from the KNUST School of Business asked the participants to continuously practice the modules after the three-day workshop.
The Africa Higher Education Health Collaborative in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation seeks to advance healthcare in Africa through two other pillars: Health Employment and Health Entrepreneurship.
