Ghana striker, Jordan Ayew, has expressed delight at scoring his first Leicester City goal since joining the Foxes from Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.
Jordan scored and provided an assist to inspire Leicester to a 4-0 win over fourth-tier side, Tranmere Rovers, in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
The game was the 32-year-old’s first start for the Foxes after making his debut as a substitute over the weekend in a 2-1 loss to Fulham.
“I'm really happy. The crowd was good to me. It was important for us to win because we haven't won since the start of the season,” Jordan Ayew said after the game.
“Today was very important for us, and I think we played well. We won, we scored goals, and played some good stuff.”
He also added that the win over Tranmere will be a morale booster ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against his former club, Aston Villa.
“It's good for confidence for Saturday because Saturday is a very big game for us. It was a special one.
“I thank God that it went in, but the most important thing is that the team managed to get the qualification for the next round, and hopefully we can get a run.”
