The Bank of Ghana (BoG) in collaboration with the organisers of the DC Fintech Week 2024, hosted a high-level leaders networking event at the Hay-Adams, Washington DC.

To amplify the need for the global community to foster collaboration with Ghana and Africa at large to harness the potential of financial technology (fintech).

The Bank of Ghana in collaboration with the organisers of the DC Fintech Week 2024, hosted a high-level leaders networking event at the Hay-Adams, Washington DC.
The DC Fintech Week 2024 coincides with the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings.

Dr Maxwell Opoku-Afari, the First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana led the discussions at the event, and Hajia Alima Mahama, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States of America was the Guest of Honour.

Also in attendance were senior representatives from the Bank of Ghana, Romeo Bugyei, Chairman of the Ghana Technology Chamber and Dr. Henry Benyah, Chairman of FastPace Transfer Limited.
The meeting attracted senior policymakers, regulators, private sector representatives, and other key players in the US fintech policy-making community to discuss areas of mutual interest to both countries.

The guided discussion was led by Prof. Chris Brummer (founder of the DC FinTech Week), Charla Ouertatani, Staff (Director, House Financial Services Committee), Mr Kwame A. Oppong (Director of FinTech and Innovation, Bank of Ghana) and Mr Dante Disparte (Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global Policy of Circle)
